There is little denying the abundance of young talent on the beat where European Dance music is concerned. Case in hand, 16-year-old Doorn protégé Julian Jordan unites with homeland peer Martin Garrix for a hotly tipped new release on Spinnin Records.
Already given a test by Pete Tong, ‘BFAM’ unites tough Electro edge and melodic progressions with considerable persuasion for such a young collaborative force. Dealing softly focused synths and uplifting pads from the outset, the tracks apex proves a grinding and mechanical get-up that echoes the energy of Dutch House music without bowing to its more oversubscribed hallmarks. Dropping at the final leg of a year that has screamed promise for both junior contenders, ‘BFAM’ is a strong nod to the quality Holland’s new school stars have brought to the equation of late.
